LIFE and renewable energy

The LIFE Elia project was presented at the RGI (Reneweble Grid Initiative) in Paris

On October 3rd 2012 in Paris, the LIFE Elia project was presented at the RGI (Reneweble Grid Initiative) conference by Gaëlle Vervack (Elia) and Elodie Jaussaud (RTE).

RGI is a European initiative that aims to promote the development of renewable energies, and therefore the extension of electricity networks requiered, while respecting biodiversity.

RGI is a platform of exchange between major nature protection associations (WWF, Birdlife, etc.) and managers of electricity networks (Elia, RTE, 50Hertz, Tennet, etc).

This conference on October 3rd brought together over one hundred people. The host of our LIFE project has been very positive.

The representative of the European Commission, Andras Demeter (Advisor: Nature, Biodiversity and Land Use) did not hesitate to mention the LIFE ELIA / RTE in his presentation, explaining that it's an outstanding project for the Commission, because it shows that the taking biodiversity into account can be an opportunity for the industry.
