Presentation at the seminar CILB-IUCN in Paris
This November 3, 2014 in Paris, we had the opportunity to present the LIFE project and participate in the seminar "Infrastructure corridors, ecological corridors? " in Paris.
The seminar was organized by the Club of Linear Infrastructure and Biodiversity (CILB), a consolidation of large companies operating in linear infrastructure of railway networks, highways, gas, electric or river ; and by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
Experiences feedbacks
The seminar began with the presentation of three practical experiences related to biodiversity and linear infrastructures : large fauna passages construction in Switzerland, the consultation process and linear project studies in France and the LIFE project Elia-RTE in Belgium and France.
The full program, titles of interventions and speakers are available in attached.
Reflections in working groups
Various stakeholder groups devoted the afternoon to discussions on works done by private linear operators, consultancy offices and members of environmental associations. Several issues were raised: the importance of territorial consultations (multi-actors), coherence in requests for compensation, the revision of the concept of servitude to allow easier action minimizing impacts of projects, changes of corporate mentality and the need for transparency of all actors involved.
