Haute Durance : plantations done !

On November 28th, the LIFE Elia-RTE project, in association with RTE, organised a press point on planting sites of forest edges.

Several associations are involved in the planting : "LRS" Lac, rivières et sentiers (http://www.environnement-amenagement.fr), les Environneurs (http://www.lesenvironneurs.fr) and Environnement et solidarité (http://www.cpie-hautedurance.org). They began the very last planting days of the 19,000 trees on the three sites in Haute-Durance.

Since the beginning of October, these workers have been working in difficult soil conditions of very shallow depth and very stony. They nevertheless kept the deadlines and planted them in a very professional way.

It was an opportunity to highlight this end of project on the Haute Durance site and to present to the press the aims and means implemented in this very specific region of the LIFE Elia-RTE project.

In particular, in this Haute Durance site, the LIFE project has given maximum support to the three pillars of sustainable development: economic development under the renovated RTE network, ecological development through the establishment of the 10 hectares of forest edges and social development thanks to the work provided by these three social associations.

Beside the plantations, the people invited to the end of the project could also see the didactic panels installed at the crossroads of the hiking trails and the HV lines. They illustrate and explain to the public the reasons for this LIFE project, the actions implemented and the results expected in the coming years.

The numerous questions from the media present were addressed both to the LIFE project team and to RTE or the three companies in charge of the planting works.

This press briefing was widely reported both on television and radio or in the regional medias. Here is a video shot by a local TV : https://www.dici.fr/actu/2017/11/28/jt-d-tv-28-novembre-2017-1082901.
